Sleeper Set Sail will forever remain one of my favorite bands. I first saw them open for Jonah Matranga of Onelinedrawing many years ago when they first started out. Back then they were an instrumental band with the occasional ambient vocal line… over time Casey Baker grew more confident and wrote much more intricate melodies with the use of profound lyrics. Their album entitled “Eyes Just Like Forest Fires” was produced at by their label Sonic Unyon in Hamilton, Ontario. I’ve been to a couple shows down there and the place is amazing. They’ve got a store front with a recording studio up top in the attic that’s converted into a rock venue by night. Needless to say, the album sounds spectacular with the natural acoustics of this giant attic.

  1. [...] Even a monopod is better than free handing. A monopod will give you an average height of six feet. The primary advantage of a monopod is that it can arc over crowds, speakers, get high enough from the floor to be at eye level with the artist on stage. A number of my productions have been made what they are because of the monopod…  as well as photographs. Check the Sleeper Set Sail – Antique Bathtubs (EPK Video) [...]
