From Switzerland and also signed to Stomp Records, the Peacocks team up with The Saint Alvia Cartel and The Flatliners as part of the Union Label Tour across Ontario. This 3 piece Rockabilly band’s bassist plays an upright stand up bass (the kind found in an orchestra) in the same fashion a jazz musician plays slap on an electric bass guitar. His stage movement reminds me of the stage space used by another bassist from Five Blank Pages. Both of these guys move about the stage so much that it could make up for the lack of movement of the others members. Although in this case, The Peacock’s front man Hasu Langhart delivers the same vigor with very little movement. The power in his eyes can be compared to what’s seen in the movies when the camera comes in for a close up on the hero’s eyes. The audience members bought into it fully, skanking around the floor and cheering on for more.
