Confidence Man

From London, Ontario, performing at The Legendary Horseshoe Tavern in Toronto, Perry’s Faultline is a new group with loads of potential. Their singer reminds me of the voice heard in Tool by Maynard James but with a little more edge. Having formed less than 2 years ago while working their day jobs… this band has totally drawn me in. They are up to par to some of the world’s greatest. The Sad truth is, there are a million more undiscovered artists that may very well be the very best in the world. My feeling is, that what separates the Rock Stars from the Hobbyists is their mind set.

The Rock Star is confident (perhaps cocky), has tunnel vision (driven to stardom and mindless of negativity, setbacks, and rejection), is professional in the sense that he views his music as a business and acknowledges that like any business, it takes money to make money.

The Hobbyist is laid back and financially comfortable with his day job. He doesn’t have the drive to push his product or passion to risk losing money on producing it, labeling his music as a means of self-expression for his own self-indulgence.

It was quite discouraging to hear one of the band members of Perry’s Faultline tell me “we’re nothing special, we all have day jobs”. It almost drove me to cancel the production and move on to a more serious candidate.

Luckily I chose to proceed regardless of the negative statement in hopes that this video will boost his ego and the rest of the members to the point that they turn the leaf and GO FOR IT! After all, Tom Cruise was a bell boy, Brad Pitt a limo driver, Pierce Brosnan was a carpenter, and the list goes on. In short… don’t sell yourself short!

Perry’s Faultline is the best of the best, simply because my son is the bass guitarist. Of course I’d love him either way, but this sure makes me proud!

  2. Elizabeth says:

A more serious candidate? These guys pour their hearts and souls into their music and have given up a lot for their band. They’re all very dedicated and hardworking, and it shows!

  3. Jen says:

    Goooood sound

  4. Christien Kekosz says:

Elizabeth, you are absolutely right… it’s shameless promotion that I’m speaking of… these boys have all the reason in the world to pimp themselves gloriously.

  5. Tyler says:

Good stuff but the drums are trash ;)

    I KID! Don’t hurt me!
