Chase The Stars

From Cardiff, Wales the Los Campesinos! have found their way into Canada and are simply loving it. This 7 piece band is less than 2 years old but have experienced more than most do in 5 years with the help of Arts & Crafts, the same record label for Stars, Broken Social Scene, Feist, and more.

Members of the group are less than 20 years old and are already feeling grown-up. After interviewing two of their members; Gareth and Ellen, we’ve learned that the past 20 months of their time as a band has been the longest, most draining point in their lives. Being on the road touring the world, playing show after show has not only made them tired but homesick as well. However, with friendly staff and an even friendlier college street, the group has called Toronto their home from home.

Some say luck is when preparation meets opportunity, and this band’s lucky break was just that. What started out as a group of friends having fun, turned into a pipe dream they chased with nothing to lose. After opening for the Broken Social Scene in their home town of Cardiff, Wales… Los Campesinos! knew that fate was knocking on their door and made them king pin of their network. From opening for Broken Social Scene, they found their way into the Arts-Crafts family and made sure to become full fledged members. There’s your living proof that “It’s not what you know, it’s who you know”, and all it takes is one door, one contact, one chance, to make your pipe dream a living reality.
