Bordeaux was bomb! I think it’s going to be the highlight of the entire tour… it was by the far the best kick off to any trip I’ve ever been on. I opened for Lawrence Collins, a singer/songwriter from Bordeaux, France who was kind enough to lodge me at his place for my stay in Bordeaux. He treated me like family, I was free to raid his fridge, drink his beer, wine, cheese you name it :p

I wonder how many lucky stars I was born under because the guy bailed me out of countless setbacks. For one, I blew my foot controller (the brain of my entire show) but luckily enough, Lawrence saved the day with a brand new fuse and north american power transformer. Had it not been for his help, the entire show would have been sabotaged. I will be posting an EPK video of his performance at http://www.epkhosting.com/lawrencecollins

He’s made a name for himself in his town… with only 1 month’s preparation he managed to draw in more than 120 people to our show. Not only that, but a number of his fans were singing along… now there’s something that hasn’t happened to me since notwithstanding days. Man those were the days… there is nothing better in the world of music than to have fans sing along with you.

I had hoped to get the french audience to sing along to my french cover of “Les Champs Elysees” by Joe Dassin (a french icon from Paris) but apparently on this side of the world, it’s an insult to sing over the performer… I don’t quite understand that… I would think the opposite.

Nonetheless, I was truly honored to open for him… he is so talented and has such a unique showcase. He’s by far one of the most professional artists I’ve ever met… even at an indie level he is able to bring the perks of the big league concerts to a smaller stage.

I highly recommend you buy his album, visit the documentary page for the full review; http://www.epkhosting.com/lawrencecollins

On a side note, i’ve been having some very aggravating issues with my digital camera. I’ve posted a few snap shots of my stay at his home that are reallu blurry… however, you can still get a feel for the fine ‘dining’ and ‘good times’.
