Alex Hopkins is a young, up and coming Singer, Songwriter and Pianist on the Vancouver music scene. Originally from Sydney, Australia, he has been touring the world playing lounges and clubs trying to develop his craft to springboard out of the background and into the foreground. Alex is about to start a 2 month stint with Disney out of Orlando as their chief piano bar entertainer. This will hopefully be a great time to refine songs written in the last couple of years and write a whole lot more, ready to record some serious demos and possibly an EP on return to Vancouver.
Alex’s influences are varied, but grew up listening to Elton John, Bob Dylan and great Jazz players like Wynton Marsalis, Keith Jarrett, Herbie Hancock and of course the great Jazz singer Frank Sinatra. Any gig will include a songs from Jonny Mercer right up to the Killers done in his own style. Although corny, this is hopefully just the beginning…
